To the state, she was a “terrorist,” and even in death, FBI director Kash Patel tells the public they shouldn’t mourn her. But to so many others, she was a beacon of revolutionary optimism. More importantly, she was a mother, poet, writer, and someone who endured political, racial, and carceral violence—and learned to strike back against it.
